Review: Joss Stone at Ulster Hall
Joss Stone at the Ulster Hall
Tuesday 10th October
Joss Stone arrived on stage, a completely different person than I expected, and it kind of threw me a bit. A delicate songbird singing the hits of Burt Bacharach; it was sweet and lovely, but I expected something completely different.. that soon changed.
Over the course of the next 90 minutes, Joss jumped between genres of her personal favourite music and morphed into Aretha Franklin with the most soulful powerful voice I’ve heard in a while. On the way out I overheard someone saying she’s some pipes in her. And she does!
Getting over the initially slow start, Joss had some banter with the audience, and tried to learn some Norn Irish lingo. Asking how we say I LOVE YOU, someone shouted out BOUT YE. Well it’s near enough lol
She was warm, endearing and lovely.
There didn’t appear to be a set list, just a hugely talented singer winging it from a list of songs the orchestra had the music to. Seemingly deciding what song fitted her mood at that moment.Use ginger soup or ginger tea as it is a good source of http://appalachianmagazine.com/2019/08/24/appalachias-front-porch-the-heartbeat-of-family-life/ online viagra zinc, magnesium and potassium are the big players in the pancreatic health.
The audience in the Ulster Hall were loving it all, dancing at their seats and in the aisles, running up and interacting with Joss, enjoying the banter with her, enjoying the mixture of Joss’s own music, soul classics and a few curveballs!
It was an absolute pleasure to hear Joss sing live. That voice. Wow.
She really does have some pipes on her!
Come back again soon Joss
