Gallery: Star-studded Charity Gala Opening for Rigoletto At The Grand Opera House

Following a week which saw over 1000 people with disabilities and learning difficulties, young people in care, diversity charities, and homeless shelter user groups attending open rehearsals, Northern Ireland Opera’s Rigoletto had a host of stars attend their Charity Open Gala performance last night in aid of the NI Hospice and Inspire.

The performance was followed by a post-show reception when the Chief Executive of Inspire, Peter McBride, and Dame Judith Hill from NI Hospice, thanked the Northern Ireland Opera.

Artistic of Director of Northern Ireland Opera, Walter Sutcliffe, commented:

“Northern Ireland Opera is incredibly proud to present Rigoletto. A huge thank you from us to everyone who has made this possible, especially our wonderful cast, chorus, crew and extras, our creatives, assistants and managers, our sponsors at Belfast Harbour, Hastings Hotels, and the Titanic Quarter, the Arts Council, The Garfield Weston and Esme Mitchell foundations, and our audience!

Those in attendance included Diego Fasciati (Irish National Opera), Mark and Alison Carruthers, The Earl of Erne and Miss Harriet Patterson, Sean Rafferty, Juju Keane, Daphne Montgomery and David Keane, Kim Lenaghan and Andrew Jones, Emily Dashwood and Dermot Fenton, Davide Giusti and Sebastian Catana, Richard Yarr, Richard Jay and Andrew Jones.

Rigoletto continues at the Grand Opera House until 6th October, showcasing opera’s greatest hits La Donna è Mobile and Caro Nome. Recognised as one of the world’s best loved operas, Rigoletto has a broad appeal. It features multi-award winning Verdi Baritone Sebastian Catana, in his UK debut, stars as Rigoletto, with Cardiff Singer of the World Nadine Koutcher as Gilda and Davide Giusti, winner at Placido Domingo’s Operalia World Opera Competition 2017, as the Duke of Mantua. Featuring the Chorus of Northern Ireland Opera and the Ulster Orchestra conducted by Gareth Hancock, this production is designed by Kaspar Glarner and directed by Northern Ireland Opera Artistic Director Walter Sutcliffe.Epididymis cyst in delay treatment can reduce the chances of reactivity and partial unica-web.com purchase viagra reactions to keep you safe.

Director Walter Sutcliffe said: “Rigoletto is one of the wonders of the world. Forget Wagner. Forget the Pyramids. This is the piece that takes our potential for darkness, negativity, self-absorption and blind idiocy and immerses it in a sound world that pushes our deepest emotional buttons. It throws us down a tunnel to give us one of the purest experiences of the power of musical drama.”
