This year a dedicated BBC live page will reflect all the special moments of the day.

BBC Radio Ulster Editor of Music and Magazines, Maggie Doyle said: “BBC Music Day is our annual celebration of the power of music to change lives.

“It’s been scientifically proven that singing in a choir is good for your health and your social life, as you’ll hear from a range of our local performers including Belfast Community Gospel Choir, the Ulster University Choir, the Loughshore Choir and our own BBC Northern Ireland Choir, led by Hugo Duncan with conductor Dominic Ellis-Peckham.”

“I’m really excited about coming back to BBC Northern Ireland for this special performance for BBC Music Day,” said Dominic Ellis-Peckham.

“Having worked in this industry for nearly 20 years, I know from experience that music and singing really brings people together in an incredibly unique way, regardless of your background, interests or even your ability to sing.

“Make sure to tune in to Hugo’s show for a performance not to be missed, celebrating the power of music!”
