Conor Marcus announces new single ‘Hold Me Close Again’ – Listen now

Fresh from his success on ITV’s The Voice Kids UK, one of Ireland’s rising artists Conor Marcus is pleased to announce the release of his new single ‘Hold Me Close Again’. The single release kick starts a huge year for the Co.Down artist, with a collection of new music planned for 2020.

Speaking about the track, Conor said; I wrote this song a few months ago, after seeing an artist called Travis Gilbert. The song is about my regrets and things I maybe wish I had done, but wasn’t brave enough to do at the time.

The song sounds great acoustically, but when I heard the finished track in the studio, I couldn’t wait to put it out and I really hope that people will relate to the sentiment in this song.”

Conor wrote his first song when he was nine, but he wasn’t sure of his ability until he came up with ‘That Girl I Met’ when he was twelve. A year later, he performed the song at his blind audition on ITV’s The Voice Kids UK and it helped him reach the semi- finals, mentored by Danny Jones from McFly.

Having previously won the Cool FM / Forestside “Young Singer/Songwriter of The Year”, Conor released his first EP “Maybe Sometime Soon” in March 2019 and has had plays on many stations including BBC, as part of BBC Introducing.
