Gallery: Nile Rodgers & Chic at Waterfront Hall (4-6-19)

Nile Rodgers and Chic brought the funk to Belfast on Tuesday night for what was one of their best ever Belfast gigs.

The party began as Nile and Chic arrived onstage just after 8.30 to treat us to some of their greatest hits. Classics like Yowsa, Everybody dance, I want your love, worked up the Belfast fans into a frenzy. 3 disco balls (2 on stage and one above the band) turned the hall into a big sparkly disco ball party.

Dancing our way through global smash hits, I’m coming out, The Greatest dancer, We are family, Like a virgin, Material Girl, Modern love and a whole lot more, Nile Rodgers reminds us how much of a legendary music maker he is.

Spacer; written 40 years ago still sounds amazing, as does Lost in music and No no notorious.

Nile describes Chic as an ‘R&B disco dance funk soup music band’. There’s no other band who can get an atmosphere going the way these guy can. Their shows are legendary and this particular Belfast gig was simply their best ever; the energy was incredible; the audience were ready to party like it was 1999 and blew the roof off the Waterfront Hall. This was the gig of the century in Belfast.

If you Get lucky you might be able to get tickets for tonight’s 2nd date in the Waterfront. Actually we are tempted to go back and do it all over again!!! Yowsa Yowsa Yowsa!
