“Let us go now into the Distant Sky…”
Snow Water presents:
Distant Sky
Saturday 22nd June
11am – 6pm on Rathlin, 7pm – midnight in Ballycastle
“Let us go now into the Distant Sky…”
Snow Water presents the first in a series of events showcasing and profiling music, the spoken word and the shared experience. Our first event this year will take place on the beautiful island of Rathlin, off the North Coast of Ballycastle.
Take to the sea with us into another world. Upon arrival, we present what will be a simply magical performance in St Thomas’ Parish Church with Eilidh Patterson. Eilidh is one of the most exceptional artists Northern Ireland has ever produced. Her work comes straight from the heart to the soul of the audience. This will be a one-off experience in such a special venue. From Patterson’s gospel roots, she has brought that vocal and compositional discipline to the world of folk music. This performance will be followed by Rathlin Island’s choir and we feel honoured and excited to bring this incredible collaboration to an intimate setting and audience.
From there we head to McCuaig’s bar, a short walk from the church, for lunch and a sampling of some beautiful whiskeys, specially chosen for this Distant Sky event. Bringing warmth and cheers in the bar that is the heart and hearth of the island itself.
This will be followed by the launch of Tour Alaska from frontman of A Plastic Rose, one of the most formidable and admired bands in NI who even supported Snow Patrol at the O2 arena in London. Sligo-born Gerry Norman has embarked on an exciting and much-anticipated new direction for his solo record, employing the equally immense talent of Jordan Farndell on violin.
However, the prevalence of ED http://amerikabulteni.com/2013/04/17/new-yorker-new-york-metrosu-ve-gelir-esitsizliginin-interaktif-haritasini-hazirladi/ (levitra generika) in men who actually gets fail to open the disorder.
Joe Lindsay commented:
“We are incredibly pleased and humbled to be chosen as the platform for the launch of the terrific new Tour Alaska. We’ve seen the early sessions with these two and it was nothing short of breathtaking. To have Gerry launch this new project with us is unreal. This is just a wee snifter of what we have in store and we will be announcing the rest of the line-up in May.”
From Rathlin, we take the last boat back to Ballycastle, taking a breather of Atlantic air and head for more music in the Anzac Bar. The day doesn’t end at night. We will have a soon-to-be-announced live band followed by a DJ set by BBC’s Joe Lindsay with a selection of music for drinking, dancing and hollering called Snake Eyes. We’ll keep you on your feet.
Come join us. Together. Under a Distant Sky.
