Local Acts Lined Up To Support The Boomtown Rats At Harmony Live
With the legendary Irish rockers, The Boomtown Rats headlining Harmony Live 2018 in Holywood this June, support for the star act will be The Wood Burning Savages and The Tragedy of Dr Hannigan..
The three-day event, which is set to pack out the Co Down town, will run from June 1-3 at the Festival Marquee in the Holywood Rugby Club grounds.
Harmony Live will see big-name acts take to the stage at the main marquee as well as events across several venues in the town.
Last year the festival welcomed over 15,000 people into the town and organisers are expecting to top that figure this year having doubled the size of their marquee to accommodate The Boomtown Rats.
Festival director Mari Jackson said: “Harmony Live 2018 is set to be bigger, better and more fun with music that will reverberate across the county.
“We’re delighted to welcome The Boomtown Rats to Holywood and we know that fans will be eagerly anticipating their June appearance, and the amazing support acts.”
The Wood Burning Savages will bring their politically charged anthems that have earned them the title of the “best band out of Derry since The Undertones’ and comparisons to early Manic Street Preachers.
The enigmatic act The Tragedy of Dr Hannigan combines the talents of experienced duo of Dean Stevens and Tony Wright. If it’s the Alabama 3 type groove you love then you don’t want to miss out!
Dean Stevens from The Tragedy of Dr Hannigan said: “We are delighted to be playing this year’s Harmony Live Festival alongside the legends that are The Boomtown Rats. This year’s weekend line up is the best yet.”
Even young people are purchased this (order cialis online) being affected by this kidney trouble.
DJ’s Tony Spence and Ali-P from The Beat Club will be providing the exclusive after party in the Rugby Club clubhouse playing a vinyl only set covering the 1960s through to today, as well as the big screen view of all that is going on in the marquee.
Mari said Harmony Live is more than just a music event “it’s a weekend that welcomes involvement from throughout the community” she explained.
This will be the first appearance by The Boomtown Rats at Harmony Live and follows on from their successful Belfast date last year.
Speaking ahead of their appearance The Boomtown Rats lead singer Sir Bob Geldof said: “Is there anywhere in the world better to play Rock ‘N Roll? Is there any crowd more up for it? Are there any people who seem to need it, consume it, rage and rave for it more than that lot up in Northern Ireland? Not in The Rats long experience. The best place to play in. The best crowd to play for. Can’t wait…….”
Mari added: “We’re really excited to be able to bring The Boomtown Rats to Holywood, it’s a great coup for the festival committee and proves just how far we’ve come from our first year four years ago.
“And, with The Wood Burning Savages and The Tragedy of Dr Hannigan we have a line-up that will have everyone rocking Holywood to its foundations.”
Tickets for The Boomtown Rats are £33.50 and available from www.harmony-live.co.uk, Garry’s Barber Shop and Homebird in Holywood. VIP tickets are an additional £10 and available from festival organisers direct
