Since its first visit to Belfast in 2017, Other Voices has expanded exponentially, bringing its unique format of music, conversation and everything in between to increasingly larger audiences both at home and abroad. While awareness of the acclaimed music television series and arts festival has grown, its central message has not been diluted. At its core, Other Voices seeks to celebrate live music in all its forms as well as providing a platform for open, compelling dialogues about art, culture, technology and commerce, exploring the ways in which they intersect.
Once again, Other Voices will be collaborating with the Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts and 174 Trust to bring this dynamic event to Belfast with the support and investment of Belfast City Council and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
ˇThis is a coup to end all coups for not only The Duncairn but for this brilliant community and North Belfast. Other Voices have recognised the creative work of the Duncairn as a great music venue and our inclusive programming which promotes all that is great about this wonderful city and its people.
We are thrilled to have such amazing line-up here and are more than confident that our work with Philip and all the folks at Other Voices will enhance our profile and North Belfast as a positive example of the power of music and arts to create positive change.”
Ray Giffin Arts and Events Manager Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts.
“Music influences so much of our culture here in Belfast. As part of our draft Cultural Strategy we’ve outlined our ambitions to secure UNESCO City of Music status by 2021, and attracting events like Other Voices is a fantastic way of celebrating music and our musical heritage. It’s great to have Other Voices back at the Duncairn Centre again this summer and I hope it will inspire creativity and influence other exciting cultural activities right across the city.”
Cllr John Finucane, Lord Mayor of Belfast .
