Review: The Band at the Grand Opera House

It’s 1993 and for five 16 year old girls, the band is everything. The group of girls who were once inseparable reunite after 25 years apart and try once more to fulfil their dream of meeting the boyband whose music became the soundtrack to their lives.

It was probably the soundtrack of your own life as well! How can we forget the phenomenon that was Take That in the 90’s and the drama when Robbie left and the group finally split. Of course they came back bigger than ever and this fantastic show celebrates an enduring career of great pop music. You might be there for the music but you get so much more and you’ll love it, even through the tears and emotional roller coaster that is The Band.

The Band features the music of Britain’s most successful boyband of all time, whose songs include Never Forget. Back for Good, A Million Love Songs, Greatest Day. The Flood, Relight My Fire, Shine and Rule the World and stars Five to Five, the winners from BBC’s Let It Shine.

The story centres around the girls lives, it’s not about The Band or Take That, much like Mamma Mia isn’t about ABBA. I actually think it’s better than Mamma Mia, maybe because I’m more connected to Take That, we are more or less the same age! We’ve grown up together. I guess that’s why the whole audience is here, all grown up, mostly middle aged and at the show reliving the memories.

It’s fun, nostalgic, poignant and much like the group of girls, you’ll be reminiscing about your life and how it’s maybe not how you’d planned as a teenager.

This show has become one of the most successful musical theatre tours ever. It’s also had mixed reviews, some loved it and some didn’t. It’s safe to say we are in the LOVED IT camp! How could you not like something that reminds you of life and how the music of Take That became a part of that life whether you liked it or not!

It’s energetic, emotional, heart warming and just good fun. Be prepared to shed a tear or two because it’s a tear jerker, but you’ll also definitely sing along and possibly dance along at the end.

Go, enjoy, let your inhibitions go and enjoy a couple of hours of great musical theatre about the group of girls reflecting on their lives 25 years after one event changed their lives forever.Tadalafil is one such medication that works in the similar manner. browse over here levitra 60 mg
