Scottish synth-pop band Chvrches are pleased to announce a headline Belfast show at the Ulster Hall on Tuesday 19th February 2019. The announcement follows the release of their acclaimed third album Love Is Dead and comes in the midst of CHVRCHES run of huge summer festival performances across the world, including TRNSMT, Parklife and Citadel in the UK, NOS Alive and Primavera in Europe and The Governors Ball and Lollapalooza in the US. Tickets on sale Friday July 20th @ 9am from www.ticketmaster.ie, www.ulsterhall.co.uk and Ulster Hall Box Office, Katy’s Bar & Ticketmaster outlets nationwide. Northern Ireland customers 0844 277 44 55 & Republic of Ireland customers 0818 719 300.
Upon its release in May of this year, Love Is Dead became the band’s third successive top 10 UK album, following their 2013 debut The Bones of What You Believe and the 2015 follow up Every Open Eye. With the soaring success of their first two albums propelling CHVRCHES into new worlds, Love Is Dead is at times euphoric and others bittersweet. Featuring the singles ‘Miracle’ and ‘Get Out,’ as well as the previously released ‘My Enemy’ (feat. The National’s Matt Berninger) and ‘Never Say Die’, Love Is Dead is an album about growing up and “coming to terms with the fact that there are great things in the world and there are awful things in the world and that you can’t get one without the other,” says Mayberry.
For the first time in their career, Love Is Dead sees CHVRCHES welcome outside influences, with 2017 and 2018 GRAMMY Producer of the Year Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia) co-producing nine tracks, whilst BRIT Award Producer of the Year 2018 Steve Mac also produces a song.
