Ten series of the recently finished hit TV series later and we are being treated to a final hurrah of Benidorm.

Benidorm Live arrived at the Grand Opera House to an almost sold out week of fun on stage. Many of the cast are in this production, each one making their entrance onto the Opera House in a grand way, each entrance giving an opportunity for the excited audience to whoop and cheer, each entrance was heart warming as fans all have an emotional connection to the characters and their history.

Benidorm Live ramps up the tongue in cheek comedy we are used to, to a new level, most of the audience appreciated it, some didn’t. There’s a lot of innuendo bingo going on and it’s hilarious. Music plays a big part in the production and you’ll no doubt be singing along.

The stage production follows on from the final season as the Solana is taken over by another hotel chain. Inspectors are in the house and they are watching every move, but Joyce Temple Savage has the wrong people singled out. Jacqueline in the meantime is on a mission with her friend to get some swinging done, whilst reminiscing about her late husband. Kenneth is still blowing and going in his top notch salon along with Liam who’s still, well, he’s still Liam lol

This is a hoot, mayhem all round, both in the Solana in the first half and in Neptune’s for the second half. The audience loved it all and as soon as they could, they were on their feet for the finale, singing and dancing along, having had a hoot of a night reminiscing and saying goodbye to a classic sitcom.

We loved it and if it wasn’t sold out we’d definitely go back and see it again.
